The Executive Board of the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education, in connection with the terrorist attack on Zámocká Street in Bratislava, condemns any expression of intolerance, hatred, or dehumanization, regardless of who is the target of the attacks, in this case, it was people with a sexual orientation other than the majority. At the same time, it expresses its sincere condolences to the survivors of the victims of this attack. The Agency’s mission is to help shape a culture of quality and to improve the quality of education in our universities. The accreditation standards require universities to ensure that the policies, structures, and processes of the internal quality assurance systems guarantee protection against any kind of intolerance and discrimination against students, staff, and applicants, in particular on the grounds of gender/sex, race, color, language, age, sexual orientation, religion or belief, disability, political or another opinion, national or social origin, membership of nationality or ethnic group, property and descent.
